Beautiful bathrooms with seamless surfaces.

Here at The Tile Warehouse we only provide the very best in service and product, which is why we are very excited to announce that we are now an approved supplier of Nuance® bathroom panels.

What is Nuance® we hear you cry?

Nuance® is an award-winning range of wall panels and work surfaces that are virtually seamless and 100% waterproof. These stunning panels are available in a range of styles, sizes and colours, so there is one to suit all tastes.

How does it work?

Nuance® are not in fact tiles, they are a laminate panels, which means there is no grouting required and subsequently no grout lines. This makes them incredibly beautiful very easy to clean and completely impervious to water.

Why not transform your bathroom into a wetroom?

With the Nuance® panels, you can do just that. The panels work perfectly with a flush-fitting shower tray and are sealed with a special sealant called BB Complete which has been exclusively developed for Nuance® to provide complete resistance to water.

How are they fitted?

Nuance® use a tongue and groove system, so that the panels can be jointed with the BB Complete sealant. This means that the joins are not only 100% waterproof but virtually invisible to the eye.

What do they look like?

Nuance® like to say that these panels can give you the ‘hotel at home’ look, with ranges of granite and marble we must agree, these panels really do offer the wow factor. Not only that but you can mix and match the styles for extra texture and style. Take a look at the images below to see some of the beautiful bathrooms created using Nuance®.

OK, so what’s the downside?

We do have to be honest here… There is no downside to using these panels instead of a traditional tile. All the Nuance® panels are guaranteed for 15 years, so in the very unlikely event of there being a problem you’re covered.

As we said at the very beginning of this post, we only use the very best products and these panels are no exception.

3 Farmhouse style kitchens that will make you swoon.

The kitchen is the heart of the home and now that we are careering head first into winter we thought we would showcase some of our favourite farmhouse style kitchens that will make you want to pour a glass of mulled wine and snuggle down until March!

Rustic

rustic_kitchen

We love this rustic looking kitchen, the wood units give the room real warmth and the neutral palette makes it timeless. The ceramic wood effect floor tiles are prefect for a busy kitchen as they are hard wearing and easy to clean, as a side note – ceramic tiles are perfect if you have underfloor heating as they retain heat well and spread the warmth evenly across the entire tile.

The tiles that have been used as a splash-back are interesting because of their shape, the geometric puzzle they create behind the worktop adds a subtle detail and a touch of the modern to this beautifully rustic kitchen

Modern

This kitchen strikes the perfect balance between rustic farmhouse and chic modern. The hot pink on the island, teamed with the transparent stools gives this kitchen an uber modern feel, whilst the exposed brickwork, beams and flagstone floor tiles keep it warm.

Modern meets traditional.

modern_meets_traditional_kitchen

For us this kitchen is the ultimate blend of modern and traditional farmhouse kitchen styles. The slate floor tiles and the Aga (nothing says farmhouse kitchen like an Aga!) are very traditional, but the cabinets and the use of colour bring this kitchen right back in to the 21st century. The white rectangular tiles on the walls make this kitchen feel light and clean.

Why slate floor tiles are perfect for every home.

Slate flooring is becoming more and more popular and we can see why, it’s stylish, hard wearing and will suit almost every home. In this blog post we’re going to explain some of the main pro’s and con’s of slate flooring to help you decide if it’s the right option for you.

Pro’s

Hard wearing.

As floor tiles go, slate is just about the most hard wearing material you can get. If you have a busy household, or a daughter or wife that wears stiletto heels then slate is the flooring material for you. Another great thing about slate flooring is that it is totally fire resistant and requires very little maintenance.

Waterproof and stain resistant.

Slate is a fantastic flooring option for people with children and pets due to its water and stain resistance. The fact that slate is water resistant also makes it a great option for outdoor spaces, driveways and poolside areas. Slate is also the perfect choice for a kitchen, as any drops or spills are easy to clean up and will cause no lasting damage.

Look and cost.

A real plus point of using slate is there are so many different varieties and colours to choose from, meaning there is something to suit all tastes. Whether you live in a modern house, or somewhere that is older and more traditional there will be a slate tile for you.

The initial purchasing of slate might seem more expensive than other flooring options, however when you consider the durability and longevity of the stone, over time it becomes a very cost effective option.

Con’s

Chilly underfoot.

In the winter, any stone flooring will get cold and slate is no exception. However, there are measures that can be taken to ensure your feet stay toasty over the colder months. The first option is to properly insulate the tiles during the laying process and the second (and costlier) option is to invest in underfloor heating which is rapidly becoming more and more common throughout the UK and will keep your feet and the rest of the room warm.

Scratching and chipping.

Although extremely durable, slate is not invincible and can scratch and chip. The easiest way to combat this is to add padding to the bottom of your furniture. Not only does this reduce the chances of your floor getting scratched but it also reduces the noise your furniture will make when being moved along the floor. A great example of this are dining chairs that get dragged in and out from under a table, pop a felt pad on the bottom of each leg and you will be protecting your floor and your ears!

Regardless of these con’s, slate is still a great flooring option to go for throughout the home. We have a wide range of styles available to view in our showroom.

But because we start to see the big tile trends for 2017 coming through from our suppliers.

In this blog post we have put together three of our favourite Autumn inspired tiles to really get you in the mood for one of the most colourful seasons.

Floor tiles that look like wood

Wow, these porcelain floor tiles look fantastic, their wood effect really gives the feeling that they have been foraged from the depths of some Canadian forest. The dark wood effect adds warmth, and the birch look really lifts the final finish.

Getting creative with grout!

Before you yawn and close the page, just bear with us!

We know grout isn’t the most exciting of topics and that, when it comes to tiling your home, grouting is the last thing on your mind. But, in this post we’re going to take a look at how you can transform your tiles with some rather snazzy grout!

Grouting that compliments your tiles.

This type of grouting tends to be the most traditional, usually beige or white, this type of grouting is designed to blend in with the tiles of your choice and essentially not be seen.

Contrasting grout.

Now this is where things start to get a bit more exciting!

Using grout as the main attraction to your tiling can look fantastic, take a look at some of our favourite examples below:

blue_and_yellow_tiles

Talk about a contrast! This is actually a loo in a Jamie Oliver restaurant in London, we love the use of the yellow grouting against the pale blue tiles. It gives this space a really vintage feel, whilst the vertical tiles keep things fresh and modern.

Blue grout

We love this look, instead of using the tiles to inject colour into the room, this person has used the grouting. Not only is this a pretty unique design, but it’s a great way to add a small amount of colour, without it dominating the room.

Red grout

What about this for a contrast! Wood effect tiles, with bright red grouting might not be to everyone’s taste but you have to admire the boldness. We imagine this flooring in a modern apartment in London, what do you think? Coloured grouting on a floor can create a real feeling of luxury, and if done properly can give the sense of more space, as it leads your eyes down the length of the room.

Wacky grouting!

Those are two words you would probably never expect to see together, but honestly there are some rally wacky things that can be done with your grouting!

Gold grout

This gold finish grouting is one of our favourites, used in conjunction with these matte finish grey tiles and the gold fixtures and fittings really gives a sense of indulgence. In the right setting, we think this would look stunning.

And you thought grouting was dull!

Talk to one of our tiling experts to find out how you can spice thing up with some stunning coloured grouting to really give your tiles the wow factor!
