1. Choose a tile that is timeless
You don’t want to be constantly updating your bathroom every time a new style comes around, so pick a tile that you can style around. For example, a white brick style tile works beautifully in almost all bathrooms and will never go out of style.
The other great thing about a white tile is that you can add colour with fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings that are easier to switch out should you want to have a change in the future.
2. Spice things up with some colour
Using colour is a great way to breathe new life into your bathroom, however, a word of advice, use it sparingly. Too much colour can make your bathroom feel small and using colours that are ‘in style’ now might not be in the future (think about the avocado phase!)

The other way to use colour in a bathroom, particularly if you have a small room is the feature wall. The feature wall is where you use colour on only one wall in the room and works perfectly in almost every bathroom. It’s a fantastic way to draw the eye through a room and can create the illusion of more space.
3. Size of the tile
There are so many different sizes of tiles to choose from, which can cause a few headaches when coming to pick the right one for your bathroom. We have a very simple rule to help you; The size of tile is directly related to the size of your room, seriously it’s that simple. If you have a small bathroom then using smaller tiles such as a mosaic style will work perfectly, see exhibit A:
